Jaw slimming/Masseter relaxation
The same medication used for anti-wrinkle injections can be used to relax the Masseter muscle, a muscle close to the angle of the jaw, which is used principally for the action of chewing.
If the masseter muscle is large it can cause a “squaring” of the jaw. If this muscle is treated with muscle relaxing injections, it can reduce in size, over a number of treatments, which helps to “feminise” the jaw line.
The same treatment can be used to help people who grind their teeth (bruxism). Treating this muscle with muscle relaxing injections, reduces the strength of the muscle, and can help with the discomfort that is associated with teeth grinding.
